The Re-Programming of Jeremy

Light Baby Productions is Proud to announce the Dover-Foxcroft debut of “The Re-Programming of Jeremy”, by local playwright Bobby Keniston.  Called “A Play for Our Times” by the Morning Sentinel in Waterville, “The Re-Programming of Jeremy” had a successful run at Lakewood Theater, and is excited to be debuting on the Center Theatre Stage!

“The Re-Programming of Jeremy” deals with a gay teen who, after bullying at school, pressures at home, and being sent to a straight camp to “fix” him, ultimately ends his own life.  Jeremy’s story is told in a series of monologues by his parents, his best friend, a girl who was in love with him, a sympathetic teacher, the minister at the straight camp, and even Jeremy himself.  This play contains a strong message of self-acceptance and tolerance.  During its Lakewood run, civil rights Teams and even Church youth groups attended the play, and High School students and up are encouraged to attend here in Dover-Foxcroft.  Guaranteed to open up valuable discussions about the timely issues of teen suicide, tolerance, and bullying.
