Welcome to Angela Bonacasa,
the new Executive Director of
Center Theatre for the
The Board of Directors for the Center Theatre is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director, Angela Bonacasa. Angela has worked with not-for-profit organizations for over thirteen years, and comes to the Center Theatre after serving as the Business Operations Manager and previous Secretary of the national Society of American Fight Directors.
Angela has a B.F.A. in Performance from Roosevelt University, and is a Certified Teacher of Stage Combat. In the world of stage combat, she has choreographed fights for theatres across the state of Maine, including the Theater at Monmouth, Penobscot Theatre Company, and Bates and Bowdoin Colleges. She has taught theatrical combat in universities and private institutions across the country, including The University of Maine at Orono and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she also served for five years as Coordinator for the National Stage Combat Workshop.
Angela has an extensive directing resume, including productions of The Odd Couple, The Mousetrap, Harvey, and Steel Magnolias, among others. Since 2009, she has been involved in the Dover-Foxcroft community as a dressage student at Isaac Royal Farm, where she teaches riding lessons and choreographs sword fights for their Equestrian Theatre.
The Board of Directors is hosting an Open House for Angela and a Volunteer Recognition Event open to the public at the Center Theatre on Sunday July 1, 2-4 pm.
