Alice in a Winter Wonderland Tour

Due to the remarkable demand to see this event, we have opened two overflow seating areas. People in these areas will watch the event via a private livestream feed and then will be able to take part in the book signing afterwards.

Currently, the only seating available in the main auditorium and small theater is ADA Accessible seating and companion seats. All others should use the In the Woods overflow link below.  The overflow seating at In The Woods dies involve negotiating a flight of stairs.

Click the links below for ADA Accessible seating in either the main auditorium or our small theater overflow:

Overflow seating at In the Woods is available for the public and does require navigating a flight of stairs.

Please join Thompson Free Library, The Center Theatre and The Briar Patch for Jan Brett’s Alice in a Winter Wonderland tour at Center Theatre November 30th at 5 pm. This is a free event but advance registration is highly recommended and registrants are limited to 4 tickets per order. Jan Brett will be conducting a 20 minute drawing illustration and presentation immediately followed by a book signing! Everyone is invited to come and listen to the presentation and receive as many signed bookplates as they request.

To join the signing line, customers must have purchased a copy of Alice in a Winter Wonderland from The Briar Patch bookstore via preorder at this link:

Select "In Store Pickup" to have your book waiting for you at the Center Theatre.

The Briar Patch will also have extra copies of Alice in a Winter Wonderland and select backlist on-sale at the event.

Arrive early! The first 100 families in line will receive a free signed Jan Brett poster. Jan will do her very best to sign all of the books that time permits. If Jan runs short on time, The Briar Patch will have special signed bookplates featuring Jan’s artwork for all of the extra books.

Jan’s tour bus will be parked in The Center Theatre’s parking lot at 4 pm. It is wrapped in artwork from Alice in a Winter Wonderland. Your family is welcome to take photographs next to the bus. Hedgie, Jan’s favorite friend from The Mitten and The Hat, will be visiting as well. Please bring the kids to have a photo taken with Hedgie.

FAQ:

1) Can I bring books from home for Jan Brett to sign?

-Usually the expected attendance at events does not allow for books from home to be signed.

However, we are happy to provide as many signed bookplates as you need.

2) Can I have multiple copies of Alice in a Winter Wonderland signed at my turn in line?

-Crowd size dictates how many books can be signed per person. Often this only allows one

book per person, however, we encourage you to make strategic signing line plans with your

friends. Of course, we have signed bookplates for the rest of your purchases.

3) How can I get a good spot in the signing line?

-When you pick-up your pre-purchased book at the event, The Briar Patch will give you a wrist band with a number for the signing line. Numbers will be given out based on the order in which books are picked-up on the day of the event, not in the order in which they were ordered. The Thompson Free Library will have planned to keep families busy while they wait their turn.

4) I can’t wait for two hours! What do I do?

-We have beautifully designed signed Jan Brett bookplates for anyone not able to join the line.

5) Can I order a book to be signed even if I don’t attend the event?

-Crowd size will determine whether there is time for Jan to sign pre-ordered books for customers who are not able to attend the event. If we run out of time, we promise to give you as many beautiful signed bookplates as you need for your order.
